4) Handheld terminals help reduce downtime and improve security

The new Allen-Bradley GuardPLC handheld terminal from Rockwell Automation helps maintenance workers program and configure Allen-Bradley GuardPLC safety controllers and I/O modules without the hassle of bringing a personal computer to the plant floor. This can reduce downtime, increase control system security and maintain high productivity at manufacturing sites.

5) Versatile new bases for Flex and POINT I/O families

Rockwell Automation has introduced versatile new bases for its Flex and POINT I/O systems that deliver more flexibility and cost savings for OEMs and end users who need to apply control system I/O close to sensors and
actuators.
The new bases are ideal for OEMs that desire high-performance, adaptable machines to satisfy their customer’s desire to maximize uptime and minimize call-out requirements.

6) New I/O module uses Boolean logic

Designed for use with Allen-Bradley CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 controllers, the new Compact I/O module has the intelligence to activate outputs based on Boolean logic.

7) ArmorStart now available with NEMA 4X rating

The ArmorStart product line has been expanded to serve the food and beverage market with a NEMA type 4X offering for all motor starting methods. This will allow it to be more readily accepted by customers that want a "plug and play" design for power and control media in order to minimise installation time.
