Economic new compact I/O modules offer ease-of-use
System designers and end users who want more performance from their I/O modules, while conserving panel space, have more options to choose from now that Rockwell Automation has added high-density modules to its Allen Bradley Compact I/O product line. The expanded offering provides increased flexibility, greater communication capabilities and compatibility with CompactLogix and MicroLogix controller systems.
The new I/O modules are perfectly compatible with CompactLogix controllers
All Compact I/O modules feature a unique tongue-and-groove design that locks the modules together. This modularity allows users to build the system they need – no more no less. This design also means the I/O modules can be installed either on a panel, with two mounting screws, or on a DIN rail, eliminating the need for a rack – conserving panel space. The new analogue Compact I/O modules are available as isolated analogue input (1769-IF4I), isolated analogue output (1769-OF4CI, 1769-OF4VI), digital input (1769-IQ32T), digital output (1769-OV32T) or Serial ASCII (1769-ASCII).

The new digital modules, including the 1769-IQ32T (input) and 1769-OV32T (output) are 32-point 24V DC modules. They feature a standard, single-slot plastic case developed specifically for users concerned about saving panel-space. The 1769-ASCII is a two-channel serial-ASCII interface module with the capacity to support ASCII messages of up to 200 characters. This module is ideal for connecting to bar-code scanners, printers and displays or use in RFID applications.
