On-Machine embedded I/O helps improve conveyor systems

We have expanded our Allen-Bradley 1799 Embedded I/O product line for conveyor applications that need to be networked and still provide high-speed and precise local I/O response times. This On-Machine solution combines I/O circuits, a power supply and network adapters into a single, low-cost IP00 module that provides local control of outputs using DeviceLogix technology.

The Series B 1799 Zone Control Modules deliver the same low-profile form factor, high-speed I/O execution and usability found in the current line of On-Machine Embedded I/O solutions, with the added features of expanded function block capacity and password protection. The built-in DeviceNet communication links the machine to the controller for increased speed and efficiency.

Users that distribute On-Machine Embedded I/O in material handling applications can enhance communications using the zone control cards to help reduce costs and simplify installation. Indeed, one card can consume data directly from up to four other zone control cards without going through a PLC scanner, which is excellent for merge or divert applications.

As part of the 1799 Embedded I/O product line extension, we also offer modules that include DeviceLogix with analogue functions for speed synchronisation and lowering overall system costs.
