Getting tough with power integrity

We have unveiled the new Allen-Bradley 1609-P UPS line – a range of high-density, double conversion online UPS in the 3-10kVA power range.

Ideal for industrial and data communications applications in industrial environments, the 1609-P is designed to provide the highest level of power integrity protection. Designed to be assembled in a tower configuration alongside the control equipment, the 1609 range enables the orderly shut down of industrial PCs, PLCs, or HMIs, meaning a fast system recovery once power is restored.

The new 1609-P Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) help to prevent a sudden loss of power that could result in lost data, damaged equipment and/or extended down time

The range offers input power factor correction and tight voltage and frequency regulation. The automatic internal bypass minimises downtime by automatically diverting power to utility power in the event of a UPS failure or overload, and an intelligent battery management system maximises battery lifespan and performance. Each model is available in a number of different input and output voltage combinations, with all models offering selectable output voltages and a choice of receptacle or hard-wired configurations. The 1609-P also offers power conditioning with a pure sine wave output in addition to zero transfer time to battery.

The 5, 8 and 10kVA models come with a Network Management and Environmental Monitoring Card as standard. The Network Management Card combines sophisticated environmental monitoring capability with the ability to assign the UPS with a unique IP address, enabling it to be monitored and controlled via a standard web browser. The Network Management card comes with a temperature probe and features fully customisable I/O contacts and relays.

A complete line of accessories is also available, including rack-mounting kits, external battery packs for extended run times, replacement battery cartridges and a 120V step-down control transformer.
