MSR300 gets off-delay outputs and DeviceNet connectivity

The functionality of Allen-Bradley Guardmaster Minotaur MSR300 configurable safety relay system has been expanded with the MSR312P DeviceNet base module and the MSR338DP time-delayed output modules.

The system can control up to three independent groups of outputs
The MSR300 family of configurable safety relays can handle complicated safety systems by allowing the user to connect multiple input or output modules to a single base unit. It offers the ability for logic configuration with multiple inputs and the control of multiple independent outputs. The system can control up to three independent groups of outputs and perform simple function block logic configurations through rotary switch settings. Users can mix and match modules to work with various input device types.

The new MSR312P DeviceNet Base Module retains the configuration of the safety system and provides additional diagnostics through DeviceNet for status information. If faults occur in the input or output strings, the base will detect these faults and safely shut down the system. This system is ideal for multi-zone applications using multiple inputs, delivering flexibility and optimising your shutdown procedures.

Expanding the MSR300's functionality further is the new MSR338DP, a time-delayed output expansion module. It comes in three versions to allow time-delayed functionality to be used in the three independent zones the MSR300 series controls. Up to six output modules can be connected to one base unit allowing for timed-delay and instantaneous output modules to be used side by side. A mix and match approach of instantaneous and timed-delay outputs can aid in applications requiring immediate stop of a zone and a delayed stop of another which could be used to allow an inverter drive to stop under standard control before a safe stop is enforced.

The MSR300’s diagnostic capabilities reduce maintenance time by providing easy access to input, output and error status. A total of 20 inputs and 18 outputs, grouped in three independent zones, can be controlled.
